A Different Kind Of Wedding Film

The Idea

When Miranda and Aaron came to me with the idea of their secret elopement, I was so excited to be a part of it. They had a wedding ceremony scheduled for January 2024 and in the planning process realized that they really just wanted to be married and start their life together. That planted the idea of them going off on a secret adventure elopement in the stunning scenery of British Columbia. A film of their experience was a key part of this plan so they would have something to surprise their guests with at the "ceremony" in January and then celebrate at the reception.

The Vision

Miranda and Aaron bought a Mitsubishi Delica as an adventure van shortly before their trip. I wanted to make this an element in the video as going on camping adventures was something that Brought them close together early in their relationship. I wanted the video to begin with a slow burn of clips that wouldn't immediately tip-off their guests that it was an elopement film, then surprise them with the match cut to miranda and Aaron driving to the ceremony.

B roll of the area was also captured to build the adventure feel of the film.
